They can be sanded and refinished over time, ensuring they remain beautiful for years to come with the right care and maintenance.

Worktop Fabrication & Installation
From bespoke fabrication to professional installation, IKAS offers a complete end-to-end service to ensure your wood worktop is finished and fitted to the highest standard.
Our in-house fabrication team precisely machines every worktop to your exact requirements, including cut-outs for sinks and hobs, drainage grooves, mitre joints, and custom shaping. By keeping fabrication in-house, we maintain complete control over quality, accuracy, and finish.
To achieve the perfect fit, we also provide a professional templating service. Our experienced installers take precise measurements on-site before fabrication begins, ensuring every detail is accounted for and eliminating costly errors.
Once your worktop is ready, our skilled installation team completes the process with meticulous attention to detail, delivering a seamless finish that’s built to last.
Keeping your solid wood worktop looking its best is simple with regular oiling.
When should I re-oil my worktop?
An easy way to check is with the water test. Sprinkle a few drops of water onto the surface:

If the water beads up, your worktop is still well protected.

If the water spreads out or soaks in, it’s time to apply another coat of oil.
Before You Oil
Lightly sand the surface using 120–180 grit sandpaper, always sanding with the grain. This removes minor scratches and helps the oil soak into the wood for the best finish.
Applying the Oil
We recommend Osmo Top Oil for its food-safe, durable finish.

Shake the tin well.

Apply a thin, even coat with a clean, lint-free cloth or brush, working with the grain.

Allow 15–20 hours to dry.

Apply 2–3 coats when treating a new worktop, allowing each coat to dry fully.

For ongoing maintenance, one fresh coat is usually all that’s needed.
